End of lease pest control
A pest treatment with the tax invoice and certificate your property manager looks for. Add flea treatment if you had a pet. From for an apartment.
Does my lease require a pest treatment?
Check your lease. In NSW, a landlord who agreed to you keeping a pet can make professional fumigation at the end of the tenancy a condition, but only where the pet is a mammal kept indoors. If you didn't have a pet, a blanket requirement is much harder to justify, so ask your agent which clause they're relying on. Victoria and other states have their own rules, so your lease and condition report are the best guide.
What agents usually want
- A tax invoice from a licensed pest controller
- The property address and treatment date
- The type of treatment (general pest, flea, or both)
- A treatment done after you've moved out and the carpets are cleaned
Best order on moving day
Move out, have the end of lease clean and carpet steam clean done, then the pest or flea treatment last. Our sister business Bond Hero does the cleaning, so you can book both and line them up on the same day.
